You can install Vector XI without removing Vector 10. Vector 10.054 can remain on the same computer indefinitely and will not interfere with Vector 11.016 or subsequent releases of Vector XI.
Do not install a subsequent release of Vector XI without first uninstalling the older one. That is, Vector 11.010 should be uninstalled before installing Vector 11.016.
Install Vector by inserting the distribution CD into your computer. It should auto-start. If it does not, enter from the Windows desktop:
Start-Run
Click Browse
Navigate to find the CD-drive on your computer.
Enter index.htm
or
Click Files of type “All”
Select index.htm on the list of files displayed
Click Open
Click OK.
The Vector XI CD intro screen should open in your web browser and you should then be able to navigate the CD using your web browser.
Note that there are several sections on the CD, including machine specific post processors, PDF files of all Vector manuals, Vector .ccd symbol libraries, the free version of Macro Tool Bar, Archives of the Vector users forum, and demo versions of some other software programs.
There is also an Adobe acrobat reader installation, if your computer does not have this program. It is needed to read the archived manuals.
